Master of Science in Botany is a branch of biology that deals with the scientific study of plants. Botany covers a wide range of scientific disciplines concerned with the study of plants, algae and fungi including their structure, growth, reproduction, metabolism, development, disease, chemical properties, breeding and evolutionary relationship among taxonomic groups.
The course covers all the related topics of the study fields, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture. way so it will not only restricted to the theoretical knowledge but also impart practical knowledge as well.
Course duration is of 2 years and the syllabus for the course is divided into 4 semesters. Being a PG Botany course, the objective is to produce intellectual and proficient botanists, through enhancing the abilities and skills of students for application of botany theories and expertise in line problems faced by industry and farmers. This degree course opens many job scopes for the candidates after its completion.
The Botany discipline is not only concentrated to the unicellular bacteria or multi cellular algae rather different complex life forms of plant kingdom are also being studied ranging from extinct gymnosperms to ever evolving angiosperms.
